About
It started with a callsign.
Prime Azimuth began a long time before it was a company. It began with a HAM radio licence, a father who was willing to explain how the thing actually worked, and a kid who wanted to know why a wire in the air could reach someone a thousand miles away.
That interest never went anywhere. It ran alongside a career in aviation — years spent in a cockpit, which is its own education in systems that have to work the first time and every time after. Electronics and computers stayed the constant underneath it: the thing worth taking apart, the thing worth building.
Prime Azimuth LLC was formed in 2026 to do that work properly. Not as a hobby, and not as a large organisation either — as a small, deliberate company that takes on tightly scoped problems in radio frequency, spectrum sensing, and embedded systems, and brings in the right specialist for each one.
How we work
Small on purpose, specific by necessity.
A large engineering organisation has to keep its people busy. That is a real constraint, and it shapes what gets proposed and how long things take. A company this size has the opposite problem and the opposite freedom: nothing to keep busy, so the only reason to take a job is that we are genuinely the right ones to do it.
Design and systems integration are held in-house. Depth — RF front-end design, FPGA work, board layout — comes from specialists we bring in per project and have worked with directly. We also make heavy use of modern AI tooling in design and analysis, which is a large part of how a company this size covers this much ground. We would rather say that plainly than have it be a surprise.
We have no completed federal prime contracts. We are pursuing SBIR and STTR Phase I awards and specialist subcontract scope, and we are developing our own systems under self-funded work that is not yet public.
Our purpose: to engineer systems that bring those who serve home safely to their families.
That is the reason for the company, and the standard we intend to be measured against as we earn the work.
